Relevance of the project

Currently, the population's need for high-quality, inexpensive food products rich in various vitamins, proteins, micro- and macroelements, as well as natural medicines is increasing. At this point, the development and implementation of environmentally friendly, low-cost, science-based technologies for growing edible and medicinal mushrooms suitable for local conditions will serve to a certain extent to satisfy the above needs.

Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-4821 of September 9, 2020 "On measures to rapidly develop the food industry of the Republic and fully provide the population with quality food products", as well as of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 26, 2020

No. PQ-4901 "On measures to expand the scope of scientific research on the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, the development of their seed production" development of strategies and models of food industry development based on effective use of existing natural and economic resources, scientific cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, formation and implementation of a unified strategy for their rational use.

Firstly, planned mycological researches on the study of macromycetes, especially edible and medicinal fungi, have not been carried out in the territory of Kashkadarya region.

Secondly, it is important to have pure (mother) cultures, to study their morpho-cultural characteristics, and to constantly update them when growing biomass of fungi, regardless of whether they are edible or medicinal. In this, the main attention should be focused on the organization of the collection of pure cultures of fungi. Until now, there is no collection of pure cultures of edible or promising medicinal fungi in our republic.

Thirdly, it is necessary to choose low-cost substrates in local conditions and to scientifically justify their biological efficiency in growing biomass of fungi and obtaining a high yield from them
