History of the section

The Information Service Department of Karshi State University is an independent structural unit of the central apparatus of the university management and reports to the rector of the university. The head of the Information Service Department holds the status of the Press Secretary of the university rector—the Advisor on Information Issues. The university information service activities were established in accordance with the requirements of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 27, 2019 "On further measures for ensuring independence of Mass Media and development of information services of state bodies and organisations". The department was reorganised as the Information Service Department in January 2023.

Main tasks

The main tasks of the Information Service include:

-         to participate in the formation and implementation of the information policy determined by the university management in accordance with modern requirements;

-         to ensure effective and practical cooperation with the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, information services of other state and economic administration bodies in the implementation of the unified state policy in the field of information;

-         to objectively, qualitatively and quickly inform the general public about the activities of the university, its regulatory legal documents related to the field;

-         to mutually cooperate with Mass media, form a team of journalists constantly involved in Information Service, transmit information (press releases, bulletins, etc.), organise public events;

-         to instantly post and update information on the official website of the university, improve web resources including social and mobile resources on the internet;

-         to conduct monitoring and analysis of the information field, preparing proposals together with experts on the types, methods and levels of response to them, organize complex works on Mass Media, including transmitting information on the internet;

-         to prepare new reports, information materials, comments and informational analysis materials for distribution in national and foreign Mass Media;

-         to provide the Representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, as well as Foreign Embassies in Uzbekistan with information materials (photo, audio, video and printed materials) in order to provide high-quality coverage of the university activities in foreign media;

-         to analyse the state of public opinion and the position of national and foreign mass media in relation to the activities of the university and reporting to the government and administrative bodies of the state;

-         to form and maintain a data base of texts, photo, audio and video materials covering the university activities;
