Karshi State University traces its origins back to September 1, 1945, when it was established as a branch of the Bukhara Pedagogical and Teachers’ Institute. On February 28, 1992, it was officially granted the status of Karshi State University by a Presidential Decree. Today, it holds a leading position in the education sector of the southern region of Uzbekistan.
Throughout its history, the university has trained over 70,000 specialists for various sectors of the national economy, with approximately 30,000 of these graduates being trained since the country gained independence.
According to employer evaluations, Karshi State University is ranked among the top 30 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. Some of its notable corporate partners include Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex LLC, Muborak Gas Processing Plant, Dehkanabad Potash Plant JSC, the Kashkadarya Regional Departments of Public and Preschool Education, and Karshi Agrocluster LLC. Furthermore, the university engages in international programs in cooperation with prestigious universities and business schools from Russia, Belarus, Germany, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Over the course of its existence, Karshi State University has produced tens of thousands of highly skilled professionals. Many of its graduates occupy significant roles in government service, the economy, and politics, serving as government officials, members of the Oliy Majlis, and leaders in major corporations and banks in Uzbekistan. Some of its alumni have gone on to become university rectors and holders of doctoral degrees.
