Faculty history

The Department of History and Philology was opened in the 1945-1946 academic year at the Teacher Training Institute in Karshi. In 1950, the department was transformed into the Faculty of History and Philology. Since 1963, specialists in history have been trained. In September 1977, the Faculty of History was separated from the Faculty of History and Philology.

According to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 30, 2014 on the restructuring of QarSU, the name "Faculty of History" was changed to the Faculty of "Social Sciences".

On September 23, 2021, the name "Social Sciences" was changed to "Faculty of History".

The staff of the faculty operates in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education" and the "National Training Program". The activities of the faculty are aimed at training highly qualified specialists needed for higher education, vocational and secondary special education, general education institutions and the social sphere.
