About Karshi State University

Karshi State University, established on September 1, 1945, as a branch of the Bukhara Pedagogical and Teachers’ Institute, was officially granted university status by Presidential Decree on February 28, 1992. Today, it stands as a leading institution in the southern region of Uzbekistan, contributing significantly to education, research, and sustainable development.

Karshi State University offers a diverse range of programs through its 12 faculties and 43 departments. With 68 undergraduate, 26 graduate, and 27 doctoral programs, the university emphasizes interdisciplinary education and modern practices to prepare students for real-world challenges. Between 2021 and the present: 167 dissertations have been defended, significantly increasing the academic potential of the university; 121 textbooks, 357 study guides, and 251 monographs have been published, promoting knowledge dissemination. Faculty and researchers have published 555 articles in journals indexed by Web of Science and Scopus, improving global visibility and contributing to the academic community. The university actively participates in projects like Erasmus+, collaborating with prestigious institutions worldwide to foster innovation and knowledge exchange.

KSU has gained a position in the QS Rankings, securing the 55th position among Central Asian universities and placing in the 801-850 range in Asia. The QS Rankings evaluate higher educational institutions based on critical indicators such as academic and employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, and research impact. These achievements indicate the university's consistent efforts in holding world-level classes, conducting cutting-edge research, and making significant societal contributions.

Ranked among the top 30 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, Karshi State University has trained over 70,000 specialists, including 30,000 since Uzbekistan’s independence.
