Labor activity

Professor Gappar Bobonazarov Yadgarovich, Head of the Department of Zoology, began his career in 1983 as a laboratory assistant at the Zoology Department of the Karshi State Pedagogical Institute. From 1987 to 1994, he worked as a teacher at the Zoology Department, and from 1994 to 1996, he was a junior researcher at the Scientific Research Institute of Zoology of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences. On October 17, 1997, he defended his PhD dissertation on the topic "Ecology of the channels of the genus Sarcoptes Latr, 1806 (Sarcoptiformes: Sarcoptidae) in the southern regions of Uzbekistan" at the specialized Council DK.015.10.01 at the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2022, following the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he was awarded the title of professor in the field of zoology.

From 1996 to 1998, he was the deputy dean for academic affairs of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Karshi State University, from 1998 to 2000, the head of the Ecology Department, from 2000 to 2003, the dean of the Faculty of Distance Education, and from 2003 to 2006, the deputy dean of this faculty for general affairs. From 2006 to 2016, he served as the vice-rector for academic affairs at Karshi State University, from 2016 to 2020, he was an associate professor at the Department of Zoology and Physiology, and since February 28, 2020, he has been serving as the head of the Zoology Department.

The Department of Zoology was reorganized in October 2021 on the basis of the Department of Zoology and Physiology in accordance with the updated structure of Karshi State University

The department prepares bachelors in the direction "60510100 Biology (by species)", masters in the specialty "70510101 Biology (Zoology, Ichthyology and Hydrobiology)"

Scientific works

The professors and teachers of the Department of Zoology have published more than 15 articles in international scientific journals ( ), 4 textbooks, 4 monographs, 5 training manuals, 6 electronic modular programs, 1 state patent for the invention of an anti-scabies agent, and in 2024 an international scientific and practical conference was organized on the topic "Current problems and prospects of studying the animal world". The department conducts scientific research in the following priority areas of scientific and research activity:

1. Bioecology of the animal world, fauna of South Uzbekistan, their rational use and protection;                

2. Bioecology of agricultural animals and crops, parasites and pests damaging their productivity, measures to combat them.

2. Norkabilova Zarina Boykabil kizi. The topic of scientific work:"Species composition, distribution, and bioecological characteristics of dragonflies (Insecta: Odonata) in the Kashkadarya region"

3. Khosilova Guzal Abdikayumovna. The topic of scientific work :"Parasites of ruminants - species composition and bioecological characteristics of trematodes of the genus Paramphistomida Skrjabin et Schulz, 1937 (on the example of Central and Southern Uzbekistan)”

4. Orzieva Yakutoy Matnazar kizi. The topic of scientific work:"Bioecological characteristics of gastropods on the southern slope of the Zarafshan Range" All researchers are conducting scientific activities in the field of 03.00.06 "Zoology".

The department collaborates with higher education institutions and institutes of the Russian Federation (Altai State University, St. Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine), Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after A. Margulan (Pavlodar, Kazakhstan), as well as with the National University of Uzbekistan, Samarkand State University, the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shahrisabz and Karshi Medical Colleges, the Kashkadarya Regional Health Department, the Kashkadarya Regional Department of Public Education and its territorial subdivisions, the Kashkadarya Regional Scientific Research Institute of Grain Crops Breeding and Seed Production, and a number of industrial enterprises (including Mubarak Gas Processing Plant, Kashkadarya Regional Society of Hunters and Fishermen, Kashkadarya Regional LLC "EKO TUR", Kashkadarya Regional Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry Development), as well as with the Veterinary Scientific Research Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
