KarSu Faculty Members and Professors Took Four-Day Tour to Khorezm.
A trade union organisation operating at Karshi State University has been organising periodic tours to places of interest in Uzbekistan. In particular, KarSU faculty members and professors were taken to Khorezm for a four-day tour. The first destination was the well-preserved part of Khiva, the inner town called 'Ichan Kala'. Today, Ichan Kala is a real museum in the open air. It is the old part of the city, surrounded by a wall and turned into the State Historical Archaeological Museum.
The walls of the city were built in the V-VI centuries. The majority of the structures in Ichan-Kala have retained their original design, including the stone-paved streets, minarets, mosques, madrassahs, and cells. 30 years ago, Ichan-Kala was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Later on, they visited Nurullaboy Palace, Jaloliddin Manguberdi Complex, and "Oxun Bobo Jame Mosque in Urganch.
