
Outstanding Achievement in National Essay Contest on Jadid Ideals
A nationwide essay competition titled “The Courage of the Jadids – Pride of Our Nation” and “The Jadids: Ideas of National Identity, Independence, and Statehood” was recently held among students and youth across all regions of the country. The contest was conducted in seven regional groups, and approximately 120 essays were evaluated by an expert panel. The judging process was carried out with full transparency and by the principles of fairness. Today, an official award ceremony for the winners and prizewinners of this prestigious competition was held at Tashkent State University of Economics. In this event, Shohista Shermamatova, a 4th-year student from the Faculty of Philology at Karshi State University, claimed first place with her essay on “The Jadids: Ideas of National Identity, Independence, and Statehood.” We sincerely congratulate our student, Shohista Shermamatova, on her well-deserved victory and wish her continued success in her future endeavours. For reference, the winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes of 8 million, 6 million, and 5 million Uzbek soums by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. Active participants also received honorary certificates from the Ministry.
