Inauguration of Geography Field Lab at Karshi State University

On August 29, Karshi State University officially inaugurated the newly established “Geography Field Lab” learning and practice centre. The site features specialised sections in astronomy, meteorology, hydrology, geology, topography, and cartography, equipped with nearly 40 educational instruments. From the simplest gnomon to the modern “Sokol” device, the centre offers students hands-on opportunities to enhance their geographical knowledge and skills.

During the opening ceremony, speakers emphasised that such facilities reflect the growing attention being paid to education and science in the country, as well as a commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for youth. The observations and practical sessions conducted at the “Geography Field Lab” will broaden students’ scientific outlook and help them develop a deeper understanding of their region’s climate and economy.
