Uzbekistan-China Education Forum Sparks Collaborative Initiatives in Higher Education and Innovation
On January 22, the Uzbekistan-China Education Forum commenced its activities in the city of Beijing. The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Education of China, Chen Sze, and the First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, Innovation of Uzbekistan, Komiljon Karimov.
During the plenary session, speeches were delivered by the Rector of the Second Beijing Foreign Languages University, Szi Szinbyao, the Rector of Samarkand State University, Rustam Kholmurodov, and the Rector of the North-Western Agricultural and Forestry Science and Technology University, Vu Puta.
Over 100 heads of universities, representatives of science, heads of ministries, and departments from both countries participated in this event. The Rector of Karshi State University, Professor D. Nabiyev, and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations, I. Bekpulatov, represented Karshi State University.
This international forum aims to expand comprehensive cooperation in the fields of higher education, science, and innovation between the two countries and advance to a new stage. The discussions revolved around various academic and scientific topics, with a special focus on the possibilities for Uzbek students to study Chinese in depth.
During the event, 70 bilateral documents were signed between educational institutions of the two countries, and agreements were reached between 5 higher educational institutions on the organization of joint educational programs. Based on a joint educational program, more than 300 students will have the opportunity to study at leading Chinese universities. At the same time, agreements were reached on organizing grant programs for more than 100 Uzbek students.
On the first day of the forum, Karshi State University and Ansin Pedagogical University of China signed a cooperation agreement. According to this agreement, the "Chinese Language Center" will be established at Karshi State University, and students and teachers who have successfully completed the Chinese language course will be sent to Ansin Pedagogical University for short-term internships.
It is worth noting that on October 21, 2023, a delegation led by the Rector of Ansin Pedagogical University, Peng Fengliang, visited the university, and as the first step in cooperation, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two higher education institutions.
