KarSU Advances Foreign Language Training with Global Partnerships

On February 19, at the Kuksaroy Residence, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an open and friendly dialogue with the youth of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, he reaffirmed that youth development remains a top priority of state policy. The discussion focused on enhancing youth engagement, expanding opportunities, and, notably, strengthening foreign language education. The President emphasized that mastering multiple foreign languages is essential for young people in New Uzbekistan, as it opens doors to global opportunities. In line with this vision, Karshi State University has established modern language training centers specializing in English, French, German, Korean, and Chinese. To enhance the quality of instruction, the university has recruited experienced specialists from international institutions. Among them, Philippe René Lucy, a French language teaching expert (FLE) from the prestigious Bordeaux-3 University in France, has been invited to lead French language education at the newly established Institut Français Language Center. The Institut Français is set to become a regional hub for French language instruction in Kashkadarya. It will provide pedagogical support to over 200 French teachers working in more than 100 schools across the region. Additionally, the center will offer preparatory courses for DELF and DALF international certification exams in collaboration with the Tashkent Alliance Française. Further expanding its role, the center will launch career-oriented language programs under the “Professions of the Future” initiative, including French+Law, French+Business, French+Tourism, French+Hospitality, and guide-translation courses. These programs will align with employment standards in Francophone countries, offering targeted preparation courses and proficiency tests. Moreover, the center will serve as a professional development platform for French language teachers in the region. It will host summer schools, national and international seminars, training sessions, and masterclasses led by highly qualified specialists to enhance teaching methodologies and professional expertise. With these initiatives, Karshi State University continues to play a key role in advancing foreign language education, preparing students for global success, and strengthening international academic cooperation.
