As you may know, from August 28 to September 8 of this year, Paris hosted the XVII Summer Paralympic Games. Among the national team representing our country, eight athletes from Kashkadarya competed in six different sports, securing 21 qualification slots.

We are especially proud of Asila Mirzaeva, who participated in the women’s T11 classification long jump event in para-athletics. With an outstanding jump of 5.24 meters, she not only secured the first gold medal for our national delegation but also broke a 28-year-old Paralympic record.

Additionally, Dovurkhan Karomatov, a former student of Karshi State University, earned a bronze medal in the men's J2 classification, -90 kg weight category in para-judo. This marks his second time winning a Paralympic medal.

On September 10, a grand ceremony was held in Karshi to welcome back our athletes, who made significant contributions with their historic victories. Karshi State University staff and students actively participated in the celebrations, honoring the incredible achievements of our Paralympians.
